ABOUT ME

The Memphis Dawls are known as the crowning jewel of the Memphis folk scene. The core group is made up of three veteran musicians who have played with several successful local bands. Brought together by their similar tastes in melody and style, and maybe a slight nod from fate, Holly Cole (guitars, vocals) Jana Misener (cello, vocals), and Krista Wroten (viola, mandolin, accordion, vocals) deliver hauntingly romantic and lyrical folk music with a modern flare.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to call it band karma. I try to help out as many fellow musicians as possible survive on the road. A hot shower does wonders for someone that's been stuck in a van all day. The backstage area is usually not very homey, and i just hate it when the pleather couches are falling apart and scratch your arm.
Maybe you'd like something local? Rendezvous has some amazing BBQ sauces and seasoning...world famous in fact. Or maybe you would like a cute little crocheted or knitted knick knack?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Through friends and fellow bandmates we have only had wonderful experiences. It's amazing to see that kind of hospitality still exists in the world today!

Centres d'intérêt

Between the three of us, we have quite a variety of hobbies and such. Wood sculpture, painting, crochet, knitting, refurbishing old and new furniture pieces and knick knacks, we screen print our own CD cases, gardening, movies, the list can go on and on!!
