About Me

University of California, Santa Barbara student. I have been moving country to country since birth with a break of a few years for education in Southern California but I'll always have this ingrained desire to explore places I've never been, experience cultures I know nothing about, try foods I've never heard of, see things I've never seen before, and meet interesting people, like you! My first love is travel, and my second love is the environment, especially the ocean.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wanna learn what you have to show me! And I am a student who loves travelling which means I am always on a budget.

Interests

Being outdoors as much and often as possible! Loooong backcountry backpacking trips, hiking in any type of environment, rock climbing, running into the ocean at midnight (or any other time of day), feeling the sun on your skin, scuba diving, watching the sunset, stargazing, paddle-boarding, kayaking and free diving!
Seeing any kind of live music (especially outdoors)
Art history
Psychedelic rock
Reading anything I can get my hands on
Not using single-use disposable plastic, and trying to live as waste-free and low-impact a life as possible

Music, Movies, and Books

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey and A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess both changed my life and I can't read them enough times.
I love Pink Floyd almost more than I love life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I co-hosted the greatest radio show to grace the radio waves of time and space (especially in Santa Barbara), and we called ourselves
SOPHIE & KRISTE'S PSYCHEDELIC BREAKFAST.
For about a year, my best friend and myself spent two hours, once a week educating and entertaining the Santa Barbara community playing mainly psychedelic rock, both classic and modern, and talking about different cool ocean animals, current events, historical events you've never heard of, the lost colony of Roanoke, conspiracy theories, local music acts, the most bad-ass babes in medieval history, and much more.
I've also been a mermaid.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook, I know a lot about good beer, and I'm a great conversationalist. I always ask people their life story in less than 10 minutes, and I can't wait to hear yours. Let's make a meal or go outside and talk about the coolest thing you've ever done.
