I enjoy the rolling blue mountains of the Shenandoah, where I live. At home I love bikepacking, trail running, climbing, playing soccer, and trying to convert my tabby cat to an adventure cat. I also love food--especially when it is made intentionally, from how it is grown to the form it takes on my plate. We have a garden at home, and nothing makes me happier than when I get to cook with an ingredient I have grown myself. When I am exploring a new city, I love scouting out the local food and craft beer scene, biking, and finding what makes that place truly unique.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's one thing to meet a local as their sitting next to you at a bar or sharing a bench in a park, but it's another to for them to share their home with you! I'm new to this surfing thing, but I imagine that it has to be the BEST way to get to know the true flavor of a city. Additionally, I imagine that if someone were willing to open their doors to a complete stranger, they have a very open-minded hold on life. I hope to meet those folks and learn what they love most about this world.

Interests

When I'm outside, I like to move my body! Biking, climbing, soccer, swimming, trail running...anything that gets my blood pumping and adrenaline up. I am also incredibly curious--I am a sucker for always having to find out what is lurking around the corner, be it on a hike or perusing a city.

When I'm inside, I love cooking. Cooking, for me, is a form of self expression. Ya know...some people play guitar...I cook! My boyfriend doesn't complain. Perfect too, because he actually does play guitar. We're a great duo!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My boyfriend and I once ran into a busy intersection to rescue a rat snake. It died right after we rescued it. That was a bummer.
