While I am new to the couch surfing community, I am not new to traveling and the effects of being bit by the travel bug. I am recent graduate from the University of Calgary and I have already traveled to 19 different countries and I don't plan on slowing down now. I currently am planning to travel and work for a couple years through Southeast Asia all the way down to Australia and New Zealand. I am on a constant search for new and exciting experiences that have more substance than partying in a new country. I want to experience new cultures, make new friends, and to find a new sense of Independence from stepping away from the comforts of home for a long period of time. I am hoping Couch Surfing will help me achieve these goals.

As a recent graduate, you could imagine I am not the richest person in the world and I am traveling on a budget but with the same goals to experience all that I can. I have many friends who have used Couch Surfing as a successful way to travel on a budget, and they rave about their experiences and the people they have met through this community. While i recognize that I am new to this and I may not have any references just yet, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you could send some advice and/or help with my traveling goals.

兴趣

As you can guess from what I spent 4 years studying, I am a bit of a science nerd and get excited about learning how the body works, mixing chemicals together, and environmental/wildlife discoveries. I have explored this interest over the last 4 years, and i can confidently say I love science.

However, that is not to say I don't have a passion for creativity, and art. I have been in many plays and musicals, and I have a passion for singing. I love reading and watching movies that give insight to lifestyles and cultures i have had no exposure to. I have recently taken an interest in writing, and I believe through practicing while I travel I can be successful with it.

Other than that, I can tell you I love yoga and I practice 4-5 times a week. I enjoy hiking in the Rocky Mountains that are only 45 minutes away from my home here in Canada. Have any other questions, please ask!

音乐、电影和书籍

This is the hardest question, no matter how much time i have put into thinking about this. I love music, listen to everything except Hard Metal. My favorite music always depends on my mood, where i am, and oddly enough the season (for example, I really only enjoy country music if it is the summer and I am camping with my friends or family).

As for movies and books, it is the same situation. My favourites are constantly changing. I love the Lord of the Rings, but also appreciate recent war films like Fury. As for books, I don't read as much as I would like, mostly because when i start reading i find it hard to stop.

One thing I am very proud of myself is for the amount of traveling I have done while being a full time student and working for the past 4 years. I went to university immediately after graduating high school, and took advantage of all travel opportunities my university offered. I have spent a semester abroad, and was accepted to study biodiversity and conservation with some of the professors in Belize. I have volunteered and traveled with groups but also independently, and have been able to do this still while receiving good grades and working to pay for my own education.
