Overview
About Me
I'm a caring, determined and humorous person who enjoys intellectual talks, trying new things and traveling. I can be quiet at times, but once I ease out of that, I love to joke around and be a little goofy. I'm also an adventuresome woman and willing to try most things once. This includes food, which I love sampling local cuisine when traveling and trying some of the "odder" ones. Of course, this adventuresome spirit ties into my love of traveling and being outdoors. I particularly enjoy hiking. Furthermore, I'm very inquisitive and curious by nature. I like learning about things in general and understanding them, which sometimes makes me a little nerdy. Therefore, when traveling, I adore visiting museums, admiring architecture and getting to know the culture if I can.
With potential friends, I like having a diversity and age doesn't matter. You can learn from and enjoy the company of people of all backgrounds.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing offers the potential to combine some of my greatest interests: traveling, learning and meeting new people. I especially think that with traveling, staying with a local not only offers a better opportunity to become more acquainted with an area, but to make new friends and learn more about the culture.
Interests
I'll mention a few things about my interests:
-I started knitting when I was sixteen and have loved to do it off and on. I've done some different stuff, but I was knitting baby a lot of baby sweaters for a while as everyone I knew kept having babies.
-I have been baking since I was a child and it's one of my greatest passions! Not only do I enjoy the challenge, but eating the end product is one of the best parts and sharing it with others is even better,
-I love being outside, and therefore this ties into my hiking. Even when in a city, I love walking when I can because I can see more that way. Hiking is no different, but just in an outdoor setting.
-Wine tasting is definitely one of my favorite activities. I just love doing it because wine is so diverse and wine tasting allows you to explore that diversity.
-My favorite food to go out for is Indian food. There's just something mystifying about Indian food for me. Though, I haven't cooked any successfully yet! Help anyone?

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite movies: She Devil, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Box Trolls, Legend, Willow, Death at a Funeral (the British version), Bernie, Trick r' Treat, Coraline, Interview with the Vampire and there's others.
I don't watch TV much, but shows I have watched: American Horror Story, Midsomer Murders, Poirot, Brother Cadfael, Arrested Development, Samurai Champloo and others.
When I read, I like reading mythology and folklore, but I've read all the Dresden File books by Jim Butcher. Currently I'm reading an anthropology book on religion, witchcraft and magic.
I listen to all sorts of music and have no logical reasoning why I prefer some songs over others. However, I don't particularly like rap and hard, hard metal.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I can't think of anything totally amazing that I have done. I suppose my most amazing thing is going to graduate school in Europe.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could definitely teach people some baking and knitting, particularly the baking. I love baking and have baked things from creme brulee to bread to pumpkin pie, but there's always something else to try. Of course, I love learning in general! From history, games, jokes, and more!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would say that sharing is one of my strongest aspects. I'm a fairly well-rounded, open-minded and critical thinking individual who can engage in a variety of topics, from leisurely to more serious or philosophical ones. I love joking around, and playing games. I'll be happy to teach you some of the card games I know. I can definitely share knowledge about the United States, specifically about my home state of California.
However, I won't be the "guesty" type couchsurfer. Instead, I'll be the active friend couchsurfer, which means I'll be offering to help cook or bake a dessert or do some household chores. Additionally, I love sharing whatever food or wine/beer I'm eating/drinking just because it's more enjoyable that way.
