About Me

Hello and welcome! My husband Micah and I recently moved from Atlanta to Mobile. We have a puppy named Peanut from the humane society who we are obsessed with. We are down to earth folks who love to travel and meet new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are avid travelers who consistently want to see more of the world. Since I am still in grad school at Emory, we decided to host people as in introduction to the CS world. We have already met some amazing people and look forward to meeting more. We were raised to practice generosity and hospitality, so our door is open!

On the flip side, we also want to stay with locals when we travel! It can be stressful and overwhelming to know what to do in a new city with a limited amount of time, so staying with someone who knows is very appealing!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Music is central to both of our lives. Micah plays basically every instrument and I play guitar and sing! Along with playing music we enjoy concerts, music festivals, and a good Spotify playlist. We typically fall into the folksy-alternative category!

We have 4 acoustic guitars, a bass, electric guitar, key board, cajon, mandolin, and a lap dulcimer on hand. Let’s jam!

Movies:
I’m a sucker for a rom-com. But to be honest.... I’m not that great at watching movies. I’m more of a How I Met Your Mother, New Girl, and Friends type of gal.

Books:
Harry Potter

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a road trip out west we had zero plans for where we would sleep at night. "Winging it" felt like a good idea at the time. After a long day at Yellowstone, we were tired and desperate for anywhere to pull over the car and rest. After driving through precarious towns in Montana with no luck, we made it to Idaho and slept in our jeep behind a bank. Because we were so tired and delusional, it was hysterical.

I hope this story shows we are simple and easy to accommodate!

Teach, Learn, Share

We could teach you the basics of any of the instruments above.
