About Me

I divorced in 2024 and realized that I hadn’t been living life the way I truly wanted to. I’m on a personal growth journey. Now I’m starting to travel more and catch up on all that I’ve missed out on. I’m learning who I am at this stage in my life, and traveling solo has given me confidence and joy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was traveling overseas solo for the first time last year someone mentioned this to me as an option. After meeting new people through my travels I thought this would be a great way to make friends all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a lot of music from the 70s. I’m also very loyal to the music I grew up with, particularly grunge, the Indigo Girls, and cheesy 80s love songs. I listen to pretty much everything. Most days you’ll find me listening to playlists that include Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and the Beatles. Right now I have a soft spot for angry protest songs, FDT is on repeat.

I love a lot of movies. I am easily entertained. Dumb comedies are my jam- Anchorman and Zoolander are my favorites. The original Star Wars trilogy will always be at the top of my list. Some other favorites include Contagion, Outbreak, and disaster/apocalypse type movies. If you’ve seen and love They Live, we will probably make great friends!

I work in a library so books are a love of mine. Some of the books that have impacted me most include Dear Mothman (a kid’s book), Wild and Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed, anything by Jon Krakauer, A Queer and Pleasant Danger, Your Body is not an Apology, and poetry by Rupi Kaur.
