ABOUT ME
I pride myself on being eclectic and creative. I can find something interesting about anyone and anything, and can strike up a conversation with any stranger. I also am not shy of trying new things, no matter how scary the situation might be!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hosting other doctoral students, hoping to pay it forward myself!
Interests
I love love love love being outside; considering I used to work with trout and salmon, this should come as no surprise! Hiking, cycling, rafting, skiing, snoe showing, the works! I'm also a very crafty lady who loves nothing more then curling up with a good beer and a pile full of yarn to knit or a sewing project to work on. I'm re-learning how to embroider right now.
Basically, remember Kirsten Larsson from the 'American Girl' books? That's pretty much me, except the 19th century farmgirl bit.

Music, Movies, and Books
Almost anything on HBO (Game of Thrones, True Detective are favorites). I'm currently in the middle of 'Vikings' and love it!
I haven't had much time to read, but I am currently reading about Death metal and Norway.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Surviving Ramandan in Turkey in 2013 during the Taksim square riots. Rafting the Penobscot and Kennebeck rivers (Class V all the way for the most part) in Maine during the 4th of July in 2011 in hail and thunder. Getting caught in an avalanche in Issaquah Pass in Washington state later that year. SCUBA diving in Belize and having a curious pod of bottlenose dolphins swim up to us.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A beer and a discussion about neoliberalism within urban classooms.
