About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to ask all the right questions and never ever be bored
ABOUT ME
I am currently a journalism student at the College of Charleston and just got back from a year in Switzerland. I am a certified English Teacher, and in the past, this job has really inspired me to learn new languages and meet people from all over the world. I have taught Brazilians, Koreans, Argentines, Italians and Middle Easterners. Everyone fascinates me with their unique cultural experiences, but even more so with the fact that they are not so different from me.
I also write for a few magazines, so I am always looking for my next story. I am eager to talk to people and ask them questions about the way they live and I welcome ANY questions about myself. Please check out my blog: http://kristengehrman.blogspot.com to read more about my experiences.
I believe that good answers come from good questions and that people only seem narrow-minded when posed narrow questions.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that everyone has something they are dying to talk about and if you let them, they will.

Music, Movies, and Books
acoustic-y, but not too indie music and "this is how it happened" books. My favorite authors are Dave Eggers and Gertrude Stein. I am not really a movie watcher.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
20th Century Celebration of the Mauerfall in Berlin, Nov. 11, 2009--- I had the opportunity to go. Das Wetter war scheisse, but the energy of the crowd was amazing! The wall came down the year that I was born and my dad's family hails originally from Berlin... these things made the celebration really significant for me!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English and cut hair. I know about current events and all of the best travel and style blogs. I would like to learn how to drive a manual car and pick up some Italian or Turkish. I am eager to speak French and German with people as well...
