I'm an Indonesian. Last year I resigned from my job to travel the world. I went from Singapore to Jordan mostly overland for half a year. Now, I'd like to take the Trans Siberian railway then go to Kazakhstan to see the World Nomad Games!

Prior to taking a career break, I was working in Timor-Leste (one of the youngest countries in the world) on a sustainable economic development program. Previously, I worked at a multilateral development bank, government institution, development program, and consulting firm in Indonesia. I've also worked as an auditor in Singapore.

I like to travel. I have explored some parts of eastern Indonesia and Timor-Leste on motorbike. I island-hopped in Maluku, rode train across the US, and solo travelled in Turkey. Once, I visited a remote tribal village in West Papua.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I traveled, I realized how very much of a tourist I am. I'd like to get to know a bit more about the locals and hopefully Couchsurfing will help that! And as I have a long way to go in this travel, being able to couchsurf will help my budget too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I realize I don't read as many books nowadays, but I have enjoyed reading the biographies of Ulysses S. Grant and Gandhi.

For movies, I like rom-coms and light ones that are good to help wind down after work, though I've also enjoyed Interstellar and Mad Max: Fury Road.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered for a year to teach in a village school on a remote island in Indonesia. The experience really opened up my eyes on village life and challenges of Indonesia's national education system.
