Hello!

I am a fresh magister artium from Finland, currently living in Tampere. I love to hang out with nice people, to be in nature, to grow my beard, cook, read books, watch films, play the guitar and whatever instrument I have at hand (though I may not yet be so good at playing them, but that's secondary!). I'm interested in the world and all the interesting things in it!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

It's nicer to sleep in an apartment rather than, say, in the park when I'm traveling in cities (though sometimes sleeping in the park in a hammock can be very refreshing too, kinda depending on the city and the time of the year). Hotels are almost always ridiculously expensive, highly unpleasant, anonymous and snobbish environments for a human being to be in, so that's a reason for Couchsurfing! Another and actually the more important one is the fact that sleeping in the home of a friendly person is always a pleasant and heart-warming experience, both for the visitor and the host, and it's a superb way to connect with local people in the places one's adventures lead her or him into.

Música, películas y libros

The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, CCR and all of the lovely amazing hippie bands of the 60s and 70s are my most favouritest music of everness. But of course I love all kinds of good music from all of the places and times in the universe from classical through ragtime and dixieland to country and protest folk and rock and roll (!!!) and progressive and chamber folk and (good) rap and hip hop and psy trance and other good electronic music and so on, you know!

Loads of movies I like too, but let's say, for example, the (earlier) movies of Woody Allen, Fellini, almost all of the silent classics, Melville and many of the classics from golden age of Hollywood too. New Hollywood (the cinematic movement of the 70s, that is) and French New Wave too for sure. And martial arts from Hong Kong. And Eastern European stop motion animations.

I could ramble about my favorite books for days, but for now I'll just say many books of Jack Kerouac and other beats, One Hundred Years of Solitude, Hesse, Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, Fear and Loathing, Tove Jansson, the Hobbit and the Leopard. There's plenty more of these.

Everything!!!! Especially everything related to music, literature, well, art in general including drawing and painting and all!! These are things that I can and want to both teach and learn in. I know quite a lot about history and the Finnish and English languages that I'm more than happy to share my knowledge about, and you know, I'm generally interested in almost everything so let's learn together!!
