Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I visit a place I want to know about it as much as possible, I want to experience and understand as much different perspectives of a place and a culture as possible. That means I read about the history, demographics, ongoing conflicts in the region, I also like to visit museums a lot and I really enjoy going to concerts whereever I am.
But most important is trying to take part a little bit in the life of the people who live there. Sometimes that can happen by a coincidental conversation on the streets, in a café or in a pub, but I really like couchsurfing because it gives you the chance to really get to know somebody else a little better and therefore get to know something about the culture of the place. Both is possible, making a friend and connect with a person from somewhere else and get to know something about a culture.

Interests

My great passion and my biggest interest is music, I love hiphop, jazz, electronic music, psychedelic rock and everything obscure, everything that is special and unheard, everything that is original. I like music that is not perfectly produced, that has rough edges but heart and soul. I really don't like plastic music.
I study sociology, so I'm interested in social dynamics, mechanisms, i try to understand cultural phenomena in a historical perspective, i try to find patterns in social groups
I enjoy it a lot to go hiking, to go for walks in the nature, to escape any noise, smell and look of industry, cars, civilization. I love it also a lot to be in cities, go in cafés, talk to somebody, listen.
