ABOUT ME

My family and friends often say to me, "you're weird but I love you". I like to try new things and make the best of what ever situation I'm in. It keeps life fun.
I'm from Indiana but I married my Icelandic, college sweetheart and moved to Reykjavik, Iceland. I am looking forward to travelling the world with him. We will also make regular trips back to the US to see family and friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined CS as a young adult with grand plans to travel. But then life happened. So, I'm back again, with my husband at my side. We have plans to travel but also enjoy contributing to this lovely community by hosting travelers in our guest room.

Interests

Forests. I come alive when I'm in the woods.
I'm also an avid hula hooper.
But when the weather is terrible, I enjoy knitting, reading, and playing games.

Music, Movies, and Books

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is my all-time favorite band. I enjoy listening to classic 70s rock while cleaning the house, but Spanish and Italian music while cooking. For hula-hooping, I enjoy a mix of modern hip-hop and worldly music with body-moving drum beats. But most importantly, for everyday chill music I enjoy indie bands such as Glass Animals, Chet Faker, Alt-J, and Laura Veirs.

I'm a sucker for romantic comedies but also enjoy independently-made dramas.
Friends and Parks and Recreation are my favorite TV shows.
Favorite books: A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore, The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion, Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson, Zen and the Art of Happiness by Chris Prentiss, Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, and of course The Hunger Games Trilogy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fire-hooping is exhilarating. Being engulfed in a spinning hoop of fire is a pure adrenaline rush!

Teach, Learn, Share

For guests, I can provide insider tourist information for Iceland. I enjoy hiking and know of many day hikes. My husband is a blogger so he has unlimited information as well.
I can also teach you hula hoop tricks if you're interested.

I am very tidy so I might clean your kitchen while you're not looking ;)
