Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm Kristie. I was born in Sydney, Australia and I've spent most of my 23 years there. In April 2015, I decided to do something crazy (for me, anyway) and packed my bags and moved to Japan. I've been living here for over a year now and I have had the most amazing experience! As much as I love Japan, I believe it's time for me to move on to the next chapter of my life. Onwards to adventure!
About Me's are always hard to write but I've been told I'm pretty easygoing and fun to be around. I can switch between deep conversation and light banter pretty easily. I try to be as respectful as I can be of the country I'm in and the locals I encounter. I'm quite easily amused and impressed (feel free to try even the most sub-par magic trick on me) and I am endlessly fascinated by different cultures/ways of life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've stayed with a few hosts around Japan with my friend and I couldn't believe the generosity and kindness of the people I've met. I want to meet many more people and exchange culture, stories and giggles!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Broadway Musical soundtracks, Taylor Swift, and anything that will either make me want to cry or dance.
Movies: Disney! (still a child at heart) Marvel, and the occasional chick flick.
Books: Harry Potter. Legit, if you want to have a five hour conversation about Harry Potter, hit me up.
TV: Person of Interest, Orange Is the New Black, Orphan Black, Sense8, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If you can relate to any of these, see above, re: five hour conversation
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the year I lived in Japan, I visited more areas of the country than most locals with 50+ years on me have. By car, plane, ferry or bullet train, I've been to Hokkaido up north, Kagoshima and Okinawa in the south, and everywhere in between. I think I've gotten as close to a complete Japan experience as I could've hoped. I'm very happy to say that I'll be leaving Japan with no regrets :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some (addictive) fun card games!
As an Australian, drinking is a pretty big part of my culture also, so I can teach you some drinking games and songs that you'll find handy in the future ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories of my adventures, as well as a very attentive ear to your adventures :)
