About Me
Hi! I'm Kristin, your local book goblin and a rookie plant mom. Nice to meet you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Mostly for the experience, cheap means of travel and meaningful connections! As someone in their early twenties, it is really tempting to pack your bags and skyrocket to another continent and move from country to country. Sadly I haven't won the lottery yet but I am fortunate and grateful for all the opportunities that arise and the people I meet along the way when I do get to step my foot on foreign soil.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: I am seriously open to anything except Tuvan throat singing and yodelling. Currently into foreign '60s and '70s music and everything that is timeless and contemporary at the same time.
MOVIES: "A Man with a movie camera" (the soundtrack by Cinematic Orchestra just hits the spot) - it is an experimental 1929 Soviet silent documentary film. I remember watching it at my local culture hub being totally in awe, it's something you have to see on a big screen otherwise the effect just isn't the same.
Then these two: Grand Budapest Hotel and Danish Girl. Really into psychological movies too. Documentary: "Rebel surgeon"!
BOOKS: mostly non-fiction and I have been in love with Haruki Murakami's works for some time now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Tackled social anxiety by performing, public speaking and training in erasmus+. I know my inner introvert still demands some downtime to herself from time to time and the extraverted part of me respects these healthy boundaries I've set for myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
-insight into my culture
-my humour (if I can find it on a given day)
-stories of failure and personal embarrassment just for the fun of it (because they are important too)
-good company
Even though I think that I have even more to learn from other couchsurfers and hosts, because listening and trying to understand another's point of view is truly one of my strongest suits.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am more than happy to share anything above and have open conversations about any topic, taboo or not. I could host a picnic and maybe even play card games with you (wow, right?) who knows.
Countries I’ve Visited
Armenia, Austria, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom
Countries I’ve Lived In
