About Me

I 'm a very talkative and humorous person who loves experiencing different cultures through the contact to people and who loves being a good host. I really enjoy creating unique experiences and sharing them.

I am a Speech Therapist who works with children with autism and for a child psychiatrist, as two jobs are not enough I also am a teacher for child care workers.

As I'm a planner, please don't send requests about "tonight" or "tomorrow night" - Requests at least 3 days in advance are most welcome. And please do tell a bit about yourself - I'm really interested in who you are. I love hosting people who bring a story - as I loved hosting a beekeeper, a jazz-singer and many more..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love hosting people and talking about the big and small commonalities and differences of everyday life in different cultures. Experiencing my own and foreign cultures through the contact to people is one of the most fascinating things for me.

Interests

Literature and Theater, sewing and gardening, traveling - of course. Oh! And training those rusted language skills - particularly trying my best in speaking and understanding Russian!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I love Sibylle Berg, Eva Illouz, I also like Herta Müller and Agota Kristof. I love books, which reflect the abyss of our everyday life and make us think about it.
I just read Swetlana Alexijewitsch which made me real think and moved me and am now reading Studs Terkel.

I don't watch much of the "Hollywood-Movies" anymore, I'm more into the alternative direction, watching at least some films of the "Berlinale"-Festival each year and loving old movies as well (Harold and Maude, some Pasolini-Movies etc.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going from Hamburg to St. Petersburg on a Cargo-Ship as the only guest on board. Travelling Kazakhstan via train. Oh- that's already two things...actually there's amazement in every single day.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belarus, England, France, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, United States, Uzbekistan
