About Me
Traveling in South America. I'm trying to improve my Spanish, see as many beautiful and not so beautiful places as possible and meet awesome people.
Currently living in Iquique, Chile and teaching English.
I am an amazing aunt to some pretty cool nephews.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Meeting new people. I don't have a couch to offer...yet!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I met some great people while traveling in India and China and when I first moved to NYC. I had an amazing stay with awesome hosts in Bolivia. Along the way, I've made some close, life-long friends through CS.
Interests
Well, travel. Human and civil rights, history, literature, art, music, art history, dance, world events.
I am also a bit of a freak about animals; love them!
Learning everything I can. Right now I'm taking a break from law and teaching English. I love learning how to teach language. I'm still struggling with Spanish and it's interesting to see what works and what doesn't; and I love sharing language.
Coffee & tea. Seriously!
Grew up with a sailor for a dad so I am almost always up for hanging out on the water.

Music, Movies, and Books
Almost all music but I just cannot enjoy country. I really loved exploring contemporary Swahili hip hop and pop while in E. Africa. Alternative/grunge 90s kid at heart.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one???
For 10 years it was my dream to experience Rwanda so, for me, it was amazing to finally explore the tiny, beautiful country on my own in 2011.
I feel so privileged to have worked with a human rights legend in Madurai, India in 2012.
Hugging baby elephants in Nairobi and feeding bush babies in Masai Mara!
Spelunking in scary conditions in Toro Toro Bolivia.
Swimming with playful pink dolphins in Las Pampas Bolivia. And biking Death Road was surprisingly amazing! I want to do more mountain biking.
Teach, Learn, Share
If anyone wants to learn or discuss feminist & post-colonial theory and literature, or anything dealing with gender rights and issues, I can talk & debate all day!
Language exchange- English for Spanish. TEFL certified!
US history, culture, politics & some immigration law.
Stories!
I love music and sharing and hearing new music
What I Can Share with Hosts
