About Me
Stand with Ukraine! 🇺🇦
Hi all! I am Kristina. I used to live in Kyiv, Ukraine, but after the russian full-scale invasion I was forced to flee my country and now trying to find a new home abroad.
I've been on Couchsurfing since 2019 when I went on a trip with my friend to Poland, The Czech Republic and Sweden, it was a great positive experience!
Here are some more facts about me: I am working in the commercial video production industry, tho my major at the Uni was the Chinese and English translation. I love my job, especially when I am on set and can observe this combination of the logical producer and artistic director sides together :) I’d say I’m somewhere in between them, but mostly working with the producers!
I am fond of oriental culture, I'm passionate about traveling, exchanging knowledge, meeting people and joining interesting events. I used to be a volunteer in AIESEC in Kyiv, creating the NGOs project. Also, I was a volunteer in Zagreb, Croatia with the ESC program.
I have traveled to quite a few countries and lived in China, Croatia, Romania and Canada.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the idea of exploring the world through people, that’s why I’m here. Also, it’s great to know more about the place where I am going because I believe that locals can recommend a lot more than a tourist guide.

Music, Movies, and Books
There are two books I love so much: “Fahrenheit 451” and “The Little Prince”, completely different, but so magnificent!
It’s funny that I work in the production, but I am not a big fan of the movies hah That’s why I work with commercials :))) In fact I would definitely enjoy watching a good movie with family or friends, but I would hardly stay home and watch sth by myself, because I’d prefer to go out to an event and be more sociable.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing which happened to me is studying in Shanghai for a year. That year I explored so many things for myself, improved my Chinese, met many Asian friends, traveled around the country and enjoyed local food.
Teach, Learn, Share
Ukrainian language and culture, Chinese, and I can tell a lot about the production industry :)
Lately I started getting into yoga and meditations. I must admit that meditation improved my mental health greatly, so happy I decided to try.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could share my knowledge and experience in Asia and tell about Ukraine, cook some traditional dishes - Ukrainian borsch is the best (in case we find a beetroot - I noticed in some countries it’s a challenge haha)!! Also, I’d love to build friendships, I’m very open to that.
