About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find a way to do what I love for a living and continue exploring the world.

ABOUT ME

I am a simple and easy-going person who is very enthusiastic about wildlife and nature. When travelling, I enjoy visiting nature reserves, mountains or historical places. I love meeting people from around the world and getting to know their cultures and ways of living.

I left my home country, Denmark, nine years ago and have since then been living in Switzerland, Australia, the UK and Spain.

I graduated in Liverpool with a B.Sc. degree in animal behaviour in July 2017 and have been living in Barcelona with my partner since then. In August 2019 I am planning to move back to Denmark to pursue my M.Sc. in biodiversity, ecology and evolution. Following my Master's I would like to move back to Spain and pursue a Ph.d. but we will see :-)

PHILOSOPHY

Eat right, sleep well, be good to people and animals alike and stay humble. Treat others like you want to be treated.

Collect memories, not things!

Smile, smile and smile some more. Kindness and politeness are always attractive.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I started couchsurfing many years ago, I have never had the opportunity to host anyone in my home due to the lack of space. I am hoping to finally be able to accommodate couchsurfers once I am back in Denmark.

I think couchsurfing is a brilliant way to experience the different ways people live and do things. I always learn something new which enriches my life in some way or another - even the tiniest things like how people prepare porridge in the morning. I always get inspired and motivated to try new things as well as do things differently at home. It is refreshing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I must thank everyone who has ever hosted me so far. I have learned something with each and one of my hosts and I'm grateful that they took their time and put some effort into hosting me :-)

Interests

Everything wildlife, nature, animal behaviour and self-development. I enjoy horseback riding (although I have not practiced it for a couple of years now) as well as other types of sports such as hiking and HIIT training.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Almost anything that is popular at the moment (just not all the cheesy, unimaginative songs). However, I would listen to Michael and Janet Jackson any day!

Movies: I like a wiiiiide range of movies and of course classics like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Marvel. I also enjoy silent movies like Charlie Chaplin as well as documentaries.

Books: Autobiographies or learning books including:
- "A Short History of Nearly Everything" by Bill Bryson
- "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari.
- "Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality" by Cacilda Jethá.

Currently I am reading "Invest your time" written by my good friend Matt Sandrini.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How can I name just one thing?!

Working with camels for a month and befriending a falconer in Austria, whale watching in Australia, visit to highest point of the Carpathian Mountains in Slovakia, Spiš Castle Slovakia, the Russian Ballet and The Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg, 8 hour hike in the High Tatras mountains in Slovakia, walked on a replica of an 18th-century cargo ship of the Dutch East India Company in Amsterdam, Postojna Cave in Slovenia, Venice, hiking in Slovak Paradise National Park, Lötchental and "Fastnacht" in Switzerland, Pathé Tuschinski Cinema in Amsterdam, sailing from Italy to Turkey, back to France with a final stop in Glasgow, Scotland.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some things about animal behaviour, a bit about vegan food or a few Danish phrases :)

In life I would like to learn as much as possible so tell me something that interests you or something that you are really passionate about!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to expand my network and I really value friendships so if it seems like we get along you will have a friend for life in me :)
