About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet people!

ABOUT ME

I am a freelance graphic designer by trade, but I love ALL the arts! I sing and play seven instruments, paint fine art (see picture with my best friend), and dance. I LOOOVE food!.. sadly, I'm lactarded and very rarely eat meat. That doesn't limit me though. I love all kinds of cuisines. I am a certified PADI diver, and day-sailor. Exploring is a nice way of escaping the office environment I'm confined to at work.

I want so badly to travel the world, meet new people, and share my experiences through the arts. To connect. To teach. To heal. To learn. To glow.

PHILOSOPHY

The quote by Bil Keane sums it up best: "Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present."

I had a near-death experience a few years ago, and ever since then, my Bucket List has been nagging at my conscience. It's getting worse as the years pass... We are all gifted just the present day to fulfill our dreams. I put on this earth to share my amazing gifts with the world, not push them off for tomorrow. I want to make the most out of what I have in this moment while I still can; While I still have this able body and sound mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While my schedule is a bit packed lately with work, I'm not looking to host any travelers at the moment. However, I can most certainly offer some great things to do in the area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a few amazing experiences! I have also hosted exchange students in the past for several months at a time. One attended school with me for the year. They were AWESOME and we all still pen-pals with each other. :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite all-time movies: Anchorman, Zoolander, Dodgeball, Grandma's Boy, Napoleon Dynamite, Old School, LOTR trilogy, Harry Potter, Never Ending Story

Favorite music: Wow I run the gamut on this one... You know how you sometimes meet people and they go, "Oh, I like everything" and then you find out later that they pretty much hate everything YOU like to listen to? Okay, I'm not one of them. Being both a singer and a musician, I like to think of myself as well cultured in this area. I love a lot of different styles - from Alternative to World and just about everything in between.

Favorite TV Shows: I don't watch much as I haven't had TV in almost a decade. I have better things to do with my time than be a couch potato. That said, am a sucker for The Voice, Archer, and Southpark. I know, I know... crude, yes, but I love to laugh!

Favorite all-time Books: Sailing Alone Around the World by Joshua Slocum, Ulysses by James Joyce, the Wrinkle In Time series by Madeleine L'Engle.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to live in Hawaii. I've scuba dived, sky dived, danced 16 feet in the air, sung and played in front of audiences of over 2,000 people, met some amazing and famous musicians, I've created logos and signage for several companies all over the united states. Oh, and I birthed an amazing son, who is by far the coolest creation I've ever made. He plays the clarinet and wants to be a game developer when he grows up.

Teach, Learn, Share

Wow, it's like this site read my mind! YES, I totally want to teach, learn, and share! I want to teach people through illustrated stories. I can and DO teach music and singing.. Or if someone wants to learn how to draw or paint, I can share the tools to learn that too. If you're a designer looking to learn some new skills, I've got over a decade of experience with the Adobe suite and with team-mates.

What *I* want to learn is how to dance better, how to cook something new (I LOVE cooking and I'm a health nut), strengthening my secondary languages, and learning in general about the culture.
