Overview
About Me
My name is Kristine and I'm 27 years old. I'm currently traveling around Central and South America with my boyfriend, Mads, for 6-7 months (but he's doing Spanish classes this week).
I've always loved traveling and when I was 16 years old I went to Venezuela as an exchange student for 11 months. There I got the chance to live with a local family, go to a Venezuelan school and learn Spanish. That year taught me a lot about how different other cultures can be from your own, and made me even more curious about other countries and their inhabitants. So to me Couchsurfing is the perfect way to experience a country - you will not only see the tourist attractions but also learn about the people and the culture firsthand.
When I'm not traveling I work as a dentist and Mads studies computer science. Sometimes I find time for some volunteer work in my exchange organization helping preparing Danish teenagers for their exchange year or taking care of foreign exchange students in Denmark, among other things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A couple of years ago I was traveling with one of my high school friends and we used Couchsurfing a couple of times in New Zealand and Australia. It really caught my attention because it opens the possibility of meeting local people.
Unfortunately I haven't had the chance myself to host anyone yet because of lack of space but hopefully it'll be a possibility in the future.
Interests
Traveling, animals and environment are probably my biggest interests.
I like visiting places with beautiful or interesting nature (on that point Denmark is a big dissapointment), and I enjoy learning new languages.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think the most amazing thing I've done was to go on exchange. It was a big step to take as a teenager and has had a big influence on the person I am today. If I got the chance of going one more time I wouldn't hesitate to do it.
