About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Finding some D.C. musicians to ROCK OUT with
ABOUT ME
I'm a (jazz/folk/and occasionally Pat Benetar..) singer who clumsily attempts to accompany herself on guitar. My current D.C. endeavor involves me being the front woman of a ridiculous top 40 mashup band. I love yoga, cooking vegetarian, camping/hiking/enjoying nature, exploring new places, salsa (and all other kinds of goofy dancing), and musical experiences of any sort. I'm also a voice therapist and spend a lot of my time making very silly noises with people and helping them bring their voices back to life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Though I'm living with non-CSers (which limits my hosting ability for the time being), I love participating in the D.C. CS community and contributing whenever I can to make sure people are aware of the fun, cultural and often free events going on ALL THE TIME. As someone who grew up in a pretty rural area and went to undergrad and grad where my closest neighbors were forest animals or livestock, I am just in love with city life
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I have met some fabulous people, had a few adventures, and can't wait for more
Interests
Music sharing, new perspectives, sharing meals (especially brunch). Singing anywhere and everywhere. Salsa. Yoga. Being outside. Long chats. Cartwheels and headstands and all of the things you were supposed to learn how to do as a kid in gymnastics that I'm only getting around to now :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Giving a person their voice back through massaging their larynx (voice box) has to be one of the most thrilling and rewarding things I feel blessed to have done and get to do in my job every now and then. I haven't done as much traveling as I have liked to in my life, but honestly, I'd say it's the small things around me that leave me awestruck every day. Going on a graffiti tour of brooklyn in the middle of the night, harmonizing with someone for the first time to perfection, that perfect bite of the most exquisitely made eggs benedict. Nothing big or grand, but still wonderful.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you a lot about your vocal folds, a little about guitar and singing, some rudimentary spanish and a few easy salsa moves. I also make a killer breakfast and a plethora of scrumptious baked goods. If you ask nicely (and likely even if you don't ask), I will sing you a song
