ABOUT ME
I am infinitely curious. I like underdogs and surprises, Bamako nightclubs, Ivorian dancers and failing to imitate Ivorian dancers, boys and guitars, aging, and games of all kinds. I believe that first dinners should be followed by second dinners, and that one of those dinners should probably be pizza. But most of all, I like the moments and the people that force me to challenge deeply held assumptions and beliefs.
PHILOSOPHY
Maximize fun! Just not at the expense of others. And aren't strangers just friends you haven't met yet? Especially if they bring candy?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm living and working in D.C. now in a great house with three other housemates. We'd love to host on weekends when we're around and show folks around and/or point them in interesting D.C. directions.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed in Geneva, and hung out with couchsurfers on the beach in Marseille in 2011, and had a wonderful experience.

Music, Movies, and Books
When I asked a friend to go to a concert in Baltimore last year she refused on the grounds that “the band names sound like gringo music.” So that. And, Ali Farka, Tata Pound, Schubert, Glenn Gould, Tiken Jah. Also, just about anything live where you can get close enough to see eyeballs.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stapled a human stomach shut after surgery because "it's OK," the doc said. "The guy's on Medicaid."
