About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world.

ABOUT ME

I am from Portland, Oregon, USA currently living in Seattle, WA. Spent most of my adult life living overseas in Morocco, England and Australia, and love to travel as much as I can! I also like dancing the night away (doesn't mean I'm any good), spicy foods, cider, sewing and craft projects, music festivals, photography, videography, occasionally a good book, watching sports, playing soccer (preferably indoor), rowing, bicycling, daydreaming, exploring through long walks and getting lost in my own imagination. I'm a positive, easy going and very laid back person.

PHILOSOPHY

Carpe Diem

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have surfed in various countries (England, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Italy, Liechtenstein, USA...). All great experiences! I have done a lot of solo traveling so it's been nice to meet people along the way and learn about the places I visit from local people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I first traveled independently when I was 17 years old when I spent six months in Ghana living with a host family and going to a local high school. I was bored at my school in the United States and fed up with the popularity contests and cliques of teenagers, so I thought going to West Africa for a semester would be the best option to shake up my life... and it was! That experience is so far the best thing I've ever done since it turned me into a traveler at heart. It was the most challenging and rewarding six months of my life. I fell in love with another culture and people, learned about stepping outside of my comfort zone, became aware of my own cultural biases, and discovered new perspectives on life that are still shaping who I am as I continue to travel and meet new people and ideas from all over the world.
