ABOUT ME
I direct the youth development program at the Urban Nutrition Initiative. We provide teenagers with an empowering experience through food. I love food and dancing and sharing both with my friends and family.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted multiple surfers in the last four years.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first two surfing experiences were with teenagers from our program when we attended food and social justice conferences in 2008: Dream Reborn in Memphis and Kellogg Food and Society in Phoenix.
I have really enjoyed meeting fellow surfers. I enjoy staying connected with some through facebook and snail mail postcards.
Interests
soca dancing, making dinner with friends, playing in my garden, walking without a destination, exploring the city or the countryside, surfing, kayaking, getting tossed (being on a tube on the back of a boat, spinning really fast, laughing really hard and then being thrown in the water when you can't hold on any longer), teaching cooking, exploring farmers markets, riding my bike without anything in my pockets or on my back, making desserts that make folks smile, doing yoga, laying in the park or on the beach, waking up early because i want to, laughing until i cry
