About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Time is the only thing anyone can truly give.

PHILOSOPHY

Sometimes I get overwhelmed trying to solve the world's problems. I've come to find I can only control myself but I can influence my surroundings for better or for worse, so at every chance I am taking opportunities to spread beauty.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've never actually had to use this. For the first time I have a couch to offer, and I've never needed to stay on one before!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

NONE so far! My friend Hansy got me started and he loves this stuff!

Interests

Climbing, dancing (East, West, and lindy swing, waltz, ballroom in general, and sometimes club--mostly swing though), painting, paddling, camping, cooking, hiking, biking , reading, anything I can do with my dog.

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as music I like parts of every genre. Right now I am on a big bluegrass kick, but I also like jazz, big band, folk, some pop, some country, almost anything heard on NPR.

As far as books... I am reading "A Leaky Tent is a Piece of Paradise" and "Like This" by Rumi and I really enjoy both. Recently finished "Out of My Mind" and that was very interesting as well. And I love Roald Dahl books. And children's books in general.

As far as movies, I've been pretty disappointed. I just can't sit and watch a movie anyway, so they rarely prove to be worth my time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to Canada, The Dominican Republic, Germany (2), Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Austria, Denmark, Norway, England, Scotland, Costa Rica, the Galapagos, Ecuador, and New Zealand, and the U.S. (duh). I think that's pretty cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

So one day a friend and I were walking around town talking about everything and he brought up the point that stealing a bike is possibly the worst Karma you can bring upon yourself. I (having had 3 bikes stolen from me) said there should be some kind of good Karma for the victims. He stopped walking and was shocked and almost mad. He said, "you lead a blessed life, more so than most I know." And this guy knew me pretty well. I took a look at my life and had to smile. Maybe all those bikes had to get stolen to make sure everything stayed in balance. I like that.
