About Me

I'm a girl who grew up in different countries, and that had left me (for a while) with an unclear idea of exactly who I was or was supposed to be. Luckily, I have now come to terms with the fact that the country you are born in and the country you live in have only the amount of influence you let it have.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To travel,... discover.. live. To meet people from different places, with different experiences and vastly different view points. I would like the experiences I have while traveling to help me grow as a person, as cliche as that sounds :)

Interests

History, especially of Egypt. Music. Volunteering. Drawing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, from opera to hip hop. Even if I don't originally like a song, if I listen to it enough, I will undoubtedly find something positive about it. I love Ludovico Einaudi, Ramin Karimloo, Indila, and so many others. Absolutely adore movie soundtracks, specially those by Harry Gregson-williams, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Yann Tiersen.
My favorite movie is the animated film Dinosaur, perhaps for no reason other than the fact that it was my favorite movie as a child, and I can't seem to give that up. My favorite book is impossible to choose. The Scarlet Pimpernel comes to mind, but then again, so does Persuasion. Pride and Prejudice. North and South. Good Omens. Harry Potter (all). Amelia Peabody series. My tastes are not at all discerning. Sometimes I fall in love with a book for its plot, other times for its characters. Sometimes for just the idea of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

One of the pyramids at Giza is missing several blocks, right in the middle, a vertical line. This is because an enterprising pharaoh decided to try to take down the pyramids. Little did he know that destroying the pyramid would be harder than building it. He gave up eventually (and thank goodness for that).
