CURRENT MISSION
Manage to pass my uni subjects, while getting to experience this amazing country and the people whom call it home.
ABOUT ME
Well firstly I should say Hello...As you've seen, my name is Kristy, I'm studying Social Work at University. Have moved to rural NSW to escape the city; didn't fancy travelling 2.5 hours each day on public transport, and I am loving the independence that comes with living out of home. Since then my eyes have expanded and the town I grew up in is no longer the world! In fact, there are so many places to explore!
This year is quite a big year for travel - have spent 2 weeks in the Top End - Darwin, Katherine and Nhulunbuy in Arnhem Land. I've also worked on a cattle station on the Birdsville Track, outback SA,been to conferences in Alice & Mt Isa, and spent time in Townsville, Adelaide & Melbourne. Not just amazed by the landscape, but the people I met constantly surprise me with their generousity.

Music, Movies, and Books
Arthouse movies, surprisingly they do manage to reach rural NSW! We had the travellign Sydney Film Festival here not too long ago, and I managed to catch a Italian subtitled historical film about schools for the blind. Usually you can find me watching Turtles Can Fly, or some good old Australian films - saw Beautiful Kate in the Darwin Deckchair cinema - films that make you think! I really can't stand the rubbish that's on commercial television.
As for music - 70's & 80's tunes. Isn't it interesting how they are often all about love, and these days we have all but departed from that with explicit modern tunes. Not liking where contemporary feminism is going.
Books: Don't seem to have much time to read. Not really sure where all my time goes....I think I spend too much time dreaming up my travel adventures.
