About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the world and expand my mind

ABOUT ME

I am a curious individual who enjoys so many things, including quiet time, and extreme sports. I like good food, great wine, and half the fun is finding it. I apparently have high cultural intelligence (I've been tested). I'm trying to learn Spanish and Italian (need more practice, can read/write). I enjoy creative writing. I have a small dog (wired hair terrier, no fur) who is the cutest.

PHILOSOPHY

I go with the flow. Slightly hedonistic, but still a kind person. Inquisitive by nature. Try to help when I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm newer, so just getting the hang of it. I do enjoy volunteer work, so as I get more involved with couchsurfing, I'm sure I'll be pitching in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I once was a white water raft guide and lived in a tent. Eventually I upgraded to a tent on a covered pavilion, then into a bus with some "hippies". I met a guide who eventually offered me her couch when it started getting below 40 degrees F at night...that was a blast :)I've also stayed on couches in VA Beach, DC, Snowshoe WV, Mt. Pleasant, SC, San Francisco, Columbus, OH, St. Petersburg, FL, and most recently, Grand Haven, MI.

Interests

Currently training for a sprint triathlon, and running many 5k's. Love Gourmet food, great wine (Rose' and all the big Reds), sports (golfing), watching sports (Detroit teams and my big ten college team, The Ohio State Buckeyes), biking, hiking, swimming, boating, reading, gardening, recycling (yes, this can be a hobby. I can make old junk into cool stuff). GOLF. cooking, traveling (duh), romance languages, reading, writing, learning.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies seem to leave me as soon as they end, but I like a few classics (Shawshank Redemption, The Graduate, The Warriors, Stanley Kubrick)
Music: classical was my childhood mainstay, it relaxes me. I love folk, bluegrass, worldbeat, techno, country (some), rock (some)
Books: Favorite book (can i really choose?) is "A Botany's Desire" by Michael Pollan. Currently reading Michael Novak. PRide and Prejudice is my favorite novel. I have hundreds of books (which i have pretty much read all of them), so too many to list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

wow, just one? My mom and I went skydiving once. I've gone twice. I have couchsurfed along the coast of Lake Michigan and enjoyed rays, good food, and lots of naps.
