CURRENT MISSION
Get over my comfort zone :)
ABOUT ME
Hello everybody,
I am Kristýna, an open-minded person who enjoys life and found out that CS is a great place how to make friends and get to know more about this world.
I love visiting new places and getting to know new people as much as I love when someone cooks...for me.
And I love psychology too :)
What else to say...look at the references or contact me.
PHILOSOPHY
Live every day as if it were your last.
Don't regret what you've done. Because at the end it makes you who you are.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I heard about CS from my classmate at 2009, then had first surfers and then more and... From that time, I both host and surf =)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had quite some experience, mostly great! I've also had some 'not-so-good' encounters, but just less than fingers of the hand and they taught me a lot. From my experience, most of the people here on CS are somehow connected.. open-hearted, curious about life and others, big travelers and low-budget fans, both teachers, and students... I'm so glad to be part of it!

Music, Movies, and Books
I always search for new music, new movies and new books - that's for sure. Like with many other things in my life. But generally I prefer oldies, I've listened to Ray Charles over and over, know a lot of songs by the Beatles, recently fell in love with Amy Winehouse's music. I also like electro-swing, blues, soundtracks such as of Tajnosti, a Czech movie, wonderful movie and songs, many of them by Nina Simone.
Talking about movies, I've seen many of them and the number is steadily rising but I have one most favorite movie that always makes me shiver. It's a Czech one called Cosy dens (Pelíšky) about two families during the Soviet occupation in 1968.
There is also the International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, my hometown, every year, 9 days in July. I usually happen to watch around 20 to 30 movies at this festival, going there since 2005.
Back to movies: I am not fan of horror movies or generally superficial movies.
My favorite book was the Alchymist by Paulo Coelho-its first part by the time I created this profile. Today it's more Kafka on the Shore by Huraki Murakami. Nowadays, as I study psychology, I tend to read books I got inspired by my teachers or peers, so I liked Malcolm Gladwell's books lately.
Oh, I almost forgot: I love biographies too! A lot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing? There are so many and I'm really grateful for that. Many of them were my dreams that I made come true or they became my post-ad-hoc dreams :p Just a few of them:
Teaching English to children in India for 6 weeks and actually falling in love with this colorful yet crazy country where I had the strongest culture shock..
Living in Prague, my most favorite city, for almost 5 years.
Spending 2 weeks in Buddhist centre in France. Cannot express how important it was for me. Travelling across France (alone)-first travelling alone. You know that feeling when you're so proud of yourself? 0:)
Hitchhiking&riding a car on the left side in the most beautiful country I've been to - New Zealand. Breathtaking. And doing my first bungee jump there.
Words of support and admiration on my singing&guitar playing. And blogging.
Getting accepted to Psychology after one semester of preparation, my biggest life win so far I'd say. Except for being born to my family and meeting so many wonderful people on my way that enriched or are still enriching my life.
And falling in love. With places, people, activities, anything. Always. Endorphins are simply good 8)
Teach, Learn, Share
I am by no means an expert at anything except for myself and sort of Czech language (one of those grammar geeks) but I'd be happy to share some of my travel/life stories and what they taught me, some Psycho-stuff.
I don't enjoy small talk (life's too short for that), on the other hand I very much enjoy personal conversations.
And I'm very much into listening so I'd be really glad if you could tell me something about you, your city, country, people, habits, cook if you like it (I'd highly appreciate:).
What I Can Share with Hosts
My experience and information about all my visited or lived destinations
I can teach you how to joggle and whistle with your fingers
And I will definitely share with you my gratitude :)
