About Me
Hey hey!
I have a lot to say, but I don´t think it´s interesting enough to keep your eyes stuck to the screen and stop you from falling asleep, so I suppose I´ll mention only the landmarks! However, if you want to know more (and I hope you will), late evenings call for it!
I originally come from the Czech Republic. Never a keen traveller, I started the university, but as I found out it wasn´t what I wanted, my life-long dream fell apart. That was when I decided to pack my things and take a plane to Ireland. I worked as an au-pair and in addition to this amazing experience I´ve found a boyfriend.
I am joking, au-pairing was rather some horrendous experience. However, in autumn I´ve moved to Bournemouth with my boyfriend where we´re currently working. In August 2017 we´re going to move to Glasgow in Scotland, which creates a great opportunity to anyone who wants to see a bit of Scotland and stay with us.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I want to visit and be visited. I want to meet new people, learn about different cultures, diverse characters and personalities. Making friends and getting to know various people while travelling is why I am here.
CURRENT TRIP: In July me and my boyfriend are going to go interrailing. (First time, but hopefully not the last). As we´ve got only 15 days for it, it will be only one night in each city/town. We´re starting in Stockholm, where our plane lands on the 10th of July. Then we´re going though Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger (with a trip tp Preikestolen), Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Paris, Bern, Luzern, Zurich, Innsbruck, Salzburg and the last stop is in my hometown České Budějovice. :) (My family is eagerly expecting me)
We´d love to stay with locals because it´s definitely much better than booking hostels for several reasons. Meeting people we´ve never seen before makes it definitely more interesting, exciting and fascinating. Making new friends would be a benefit, hearing different life stories something that no hostel or hotel can offer. Experiencing time together and making memories something that will stay with us forever.
Interests
I don´t have a list of super crazy, interesting or original hobbies to show you, I suppose I am a bit boring in this respect. I love travelling (as everyone here), photography, reading, hanging out with friends and walking. I´ve recently started going to the gym so I spend quite a lot of my free time there. I´m also very interested in Psychology - that´s what I am going to study in Scotland. The second try, I guess.
Oh, and I always have to do something. Doesn't matter what it is, but it's has to make a sense to me.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Fight Club, Survivor and other books by Chuck Palahniuk except the new rubbish which was obviously written just to shock. I´ve also read Guts and unlike those 67 people present on its public reading, I didn´t faint.
There´s a wide range of other books I love, stretching from Master and Margaret to The Day of Triffids. The unifying element is an interesting thought or idea. Importantly, it needs to have something to say to attract me. I also love a few Czech books but as there´s noone who knows their names, it´s needles to mention them. I can only say they´re amazing.
Naturally, there´s also some psychology-focused literature I like. The Lucifer Effect or The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat belong to those pieces I enjoyed the most.
I don't really watch movies much, and the reason is I usually choose doing something else when I have the chance. But those I really enjoyed lately has been The Gone Girl and Get Out. Pretty Awesome.
And when we talk about music, I absolutely love Daughter. That's a band that I adore, love every song they release and I'd be probably able listen to it from dawn till dusk.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Qutting the college course which didn´t give me any perspective, stopping wasting my time and leaving for Ireland was definitely the best I could have done and I am very happy I´ve done it. It´s not amazing, but it changed my life in an amazing way. We just have so many opportunities in life this time and it's such a shame not to use them.
I also worked as a volunteer Czech teacher for a charity and used to go to a Syrian refugee family that moved into the Czech Republic. It lasted only about two months, but it was an absolutely amazing experience and I am still in contact with them!
