ABOUT ME

I haven't come up with the best metaphor yet, but in a way I'm like Tigger: I have a spring in my butt! If I can, I go wherever because I love the thrill of novelty. I get a lot of my energy from people, stimulating conversations, and new ideas. I'm always on a quest, only the targets might change. I jump around when I'm nervous and laugh when I'm tense, or just when I actually feel like it. Oh, and I just loove the mornings.

Interests

Anything from environmental issues to global happenings, photography in all shapes and forms, quirky facts about places, funny expressions I catch in movies, running in the forest (hopefully wearing something orange), meditation and living in the moment, naming my plants wondrous foreign names (currently I have 'Italuvi' and 'De la O'), studying languages, connecting the dots between the different fields of study I'm pursuing, solve problems - big and small, read about ideas that never occurred to me, or which I have never articulated so eloquently, having wonderful friends around me, and being there for them when they need me, finding the best ways to give back for all the goodies I've been given, and always striving to be a better person than I was yesterday.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been lucky to have traveled a bit over the last couple of years, and I've seen many eye-opening scenes, awe-inspiring and devastating alike. One great moment I had was in Ladakh, India, where once I sat down next to an old man in a cafe (as there were no free tables), and he ended up being the most extensively traveled person I ever met paired with a passion for social justice. Had I been with someone that moment, I would have never sat down with him. There is always a positive way to twist things around.
