About Me

Hi Everyone, I'm Krisztina, age of 24, student at a Hungarian university. I'm an open-minded, friendly person who likes to travel, going to concerts, indulging in some form of art, or just hanging around town.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first Couchsurfing experience was with a friend with whom I travelled to two German cities in 2015 (Berlin & Dresden). I had a really good time with our hosts and it was a positive reinforcement for me.

In the summer of 2016 I've also met several Couchsurfers before and during the Sziget festival. We attended the concerts together on some days and also went to a few other places in Budapest. It was nice to show them around my hometown while also having a good time and getting to know more about each other's daily life in our home countries.

I'm also an active member of an international student organization called AEGEE-Europe. I travelled to Slovenia and to the Netherlands to participate in various AEGEE-events (exchange program and a two-week long Summer University). Also hosted some of my friends in Budapest whom I got connected to through AEGEE.

My aim with CS is to meet foreigners, share our experiences, and get to know other cultures :)

Interests

I'm doing my studies in the field of Marketing and Business Information Technology. I worked at big multinational companies, doing "sedentary computer jobs", but my true passion lies in the arts. I really like almost all kinds of music, or at least I'm always open to explore more. I also love reading or watching a good movie.

Music, Movies, and Books

It's hard to pick my favourites, as the more you get to know, the wider the range of choices. Maybe it would be:

.Music.

• Yann Tiersen - motivated me to learn to play the piano again as a teen. Also going to his concert this year in Budapest (in October)
• Glenn Gould - he was more of a pianist, not a composer, but LOVE him anyway
• Caravan Palace - great French bohemians doing some inimitable and truly unique electro-swing music. Makes me want to dance whenever I hear them!
• Avicii / Martin Garrix / Daft Punk - just to name a few in the electronic genre. I listen to really a lot of Dutch DJs nowadays, I think Spinnin' Records (and many other Dutch record studios as well) give the world some really fresh and exciting talents
• Muse / Franz Ferdinand / The Beatles :) - some British rock here and there
• System of a Down / Nightwish / Children of Bodom - the metal sphere ;)
• Bach / Erik Satie / Beethoven / Chopin / Schubert - and the classics

.Movies.

• Michael Haneke movies
• Stanley Kubrick movies
• Really like cartoons as well - the ones which are directed towards a more adult audience : South Park, Rick & Morty, Futurama, Courage the Cowardly Dog, sometimes Family Guy. When I was in primary school, for long I wanted to be a cartoonist :)
• Documentaries - for example the Cosmos series is just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I'm so glad that they did a remake, otherwise I'm not sure I would get to see it!
• In general I like European (art) films most of the time - French and Scandinavian have been my favourites so far. Not really big on (American) blockbusters.

.Books.

• Dostoyevsky - but in general I do not really read a lot of novels nowadays. I'm not that much of a fiction person in this regard anymore (used to read a lot more in my teenage years)
• Really like books in the field of psychology, sociology, economics, sometimes science. Whatever catches my attention at the moment, I'm a curious person
