About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Discovering local music, local culture and counter culture. Meeting friendly people from all walks of life interested in a better world.
ABOUT ME
I like to enjoy life and take whatever opportunities that come along that will enhance my experiences. I leave myself open to different paths, which sometimes can lead to dead ends but just as often lead to unexpected and pleasant surprises. I'm often traveling without much of a plan, and usually taking things kind of slow.
My priorities don't line up with those of conventional society. I don't believe in buying more possessions to try to create happiness, or in defining yourself by your job. Too many people get stuck living in a shitty place or in a shitty situation and feel like they can't leave. I think it's easier than people think and just takes the will power to do something different or change your situation.
I try to travel whenever I can save up a little money. But I also enjoy living in new locations for a period of time, allowing me to get a deeper feel for the local culture and community than a stay of a few days or weeks would allow.
Day hikes, swimming, the occasional beer in a cool locale, exploring forgotten or abandoned areas, seeing an independent band or film. When I'm in a new place that is what I seek out first. I like science and art museums. I like learning new recipes and ways to prepare food.
When I'm in a more permanent location, I get into listening to records, playing boardgames, volunteering, cooking and growing food, seeking out local music, exercising, and living life to the fullest.
My default city is Philadelphia, where I return to work and save money to prepare for my next adventure.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to see and learn as much as I can. Everyone has their own view on life and their own experiences. I believe in being respectful and friendly to people.
I'm an anarchist, a socialist, a communist, or whatever it takes to make the world a better place free of war and economic oppression.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Punk, Jazz, Folk, Country, Indie, Traditional, Metal
Movies: I especially like independent movies, scifi and horror movies and movies that are just plain bizarre.
Books: For fiction I enjoy the weird and strange...like Lovecraft, Phillip K Dick, Vonnegut, Robert E. Howard. Some favorite classic authors are Steinbeck, Upton Sinclair, Stephen Crane. Nonfiction subjects that interest me are anthropology, evolution, history, science, nature, psychology. I like nonfiction authors that focus on people's movements rather than glorifying power or patriotism, and on scientific methodology rather than philosophy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen many amazing bands play that never really left their home towns, bands that put all their energy and heart into a project just for the sake of the music and the art. It's small things happening in local music communities that leave a deep impression on me.
Also, in New Zealand I saw some of the most breathtaking landscapes of my life.
Mexico has some epic ruins that will be permanently engraved on my brain.
I biked 1800 miles through Argentina and Chile, living in a tent and meeting interesting people. It felt like your skin was opening up and the whole world was soaking in.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know how to fix bicycles. I could share some knowledge of photography or video production. I know how to play the drums and guitar. I can refinish and repair furniture. I can help train your dog. I have professional house painting skills. Lets go to school!
