ABOUT ME

I am from Guatemala. Went to the university in the U.S. and got my Master's degree there, too.
I have been working as a university professor almost since my graduation. I love this profession as it allows me to positively influence other people from my academic field so that they in turn can change themselves and society for the better.
I have been mainly teaching business courses, especially Economics, Marketing and Management.

I love learning about other cultures and peoples as I truly believe this enhances one's life in general.

I have visited a few countries, mainly in North America, Europe; Japan, and a couple in South America. I look forward to the opportunity of traveling as much as I can in this life.

I consider myself a "eurofile", and specifically, an "italofile"... I like and enjoy Italy so much!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience was in 2009, in Bamberg, Germany.
I was hosted by a very nice person.
I think that for this to have been my first experience, it went excellent! What a great idea to meet people with similar interests.
I have also hosted couchsurfers in 2009 and 2010, one from the Canary Islands and, for coffee, a person from Canada.
Second and third experiences were from Tokyo Japan. Again, a very good experience that continues to convince me that this is a great opportunity to make long lasting friends.

The last experiences so far were in Krakow, Poland and Budapest, Hungary in 2011.

Interests

Reading, traveling, cooking, hiking. Some sports like Tennis, weight lifting and swimming.
Enjoy watching documentaries especially if they are related to the subjects of History, Science, Psychology, Philosophy, AStronomy, etc.
Enjoy my career: Teaching at the university level.

I back packed through 16 different countries in Europe when I was 21, in three weeks, to have a breath knowledge of all.
