About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see countries outside of Europe!

ABOUT ME

I have a few goals in life, which I wish accomplish:
I want to run a marathon in 4 hours or less at least once in my life, I want to learn to play an instrument, but the thing I want the most is to visit every continent in the world and hopefully see as many countries as well while there!!!

I have spent a year after graduation working as a substitute teacher at my old elementary school, where I teach any subject to any class (6-15 year olds). I'm currently still working there, but next year I will be starting (hopefully :P) on my education as a dentist.
The money I've made from working there is mostly going to my "Tavelling fund". I'll be going to Vietnam February in 2010 with a group of people, where we will get lessons in communication, philosophy and cultural understanding. From there I'll be going to Cambodia, China, USA and Canada.

I'm the active type that likes a new challenge and enjoys every new experience as well as previous ones.
At some points I'm very organized and other times I can be a bit messy :P Sometimes I can be very imaginative and get wild ideas about what to do, or how to do things.

Travelling is what I enjoy the most in my life - to experience new countries, to try out the local food and beverage, to feel the atmosphere of a city or the one of a small village, or to try out something wild of that particularly area. And as a hobby I enjoy photography. Photos means a lot to me. Pictures, which I have taken, are like a spare "memory-brain" for me. When I look at them at home, I will always be able to remember the smells, the sounds, the atmosphere, the people that I was with, when this or that picture was taken.

As for the very personality of me, I am friendly, positive, calm and helpful.

PHILOSOPHY

"The greatest honour lies not in always succeeding, but in getting back up, when you fail" and "Practise makes master".
I feel that you should always dedicate yourself to your goals 100%, and if that still isn't enough, then you just try again untill you find a way that is successful.
And of course, "Be good to others that they may be good to you"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to get some CouchSurfing experience myself, before I start recommending it to others, and then I might just have a couch later on for other members of the CouchSurfing community :-)

Interests

Photography is possibly my greatest interest since it's also kind of a hobby. Listening to music, going to the cinema or just hanging out with my friends is my current interests besides my active life, which consists mainly of working out 2 times a week, running 3-4 times a week and CrossFit 1-2 times a week.
When I'm out travelling my major interest is always the country I'm in and the people I get to meet.

Music, Movies, and Books

As for movies, I mostly watch action and comedy, but I really enjoy a movie with a message, with something to be interpretated no matter the genre. Such a movie would be "Yes Man" with Jim Carrey - Don't be a nay-sayer! Or "Fearless" with Jet Li - How he matures to understand honour amazes me.

When it comes to music I listen a lot to Muse, Metallica, Linkin Park, but mostly because they have a lot of energetic songs, which are useful for my work-outs and running. Otherwise I enjoy listening to the modern jazz of Chris Minh Doky or the alternative rockband Coldplay.

As for books, I have recently taken on the challenge of reading Dante's "The Divine Comedy" in English, which is proving to be most exciting reading material. But I mostly stick with reading criminal novels in Danish.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rapelling and cliffdiving at Da Lat waterfalls in Vietnam, truly one of my greatest adrenalin kicks

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a thing or two about photography, which I could share, and also something about the training of the human body.
When I'm out, I like to learn whatever the world has to offer to me - It's all part of the travelling experience :-) I only hope to remember it all when I get back home!
