ABOUT ME

Hey!
I'm Kristen, 28 and deciding to live with joy every day. I love Jesus and everything He brings into my life. Everyday is worth waking up for because He has given me the answer to why I wake up in the morning.
I was recently married to my best friend and am rising more and more in love with him every single day. He is the greatest gift I've ever known besides Jesus himself. I am so honored to have the welcome of loving this man on every level for the rest of my entire life. He is my favorite adventurer of all!
I love the beach. I love waves and have traveled across the planet to Australia to find them while living out my dream of learning how to surf in in 2013 and 2014. In October of 2014, I was accepted into Hillsong International Leadership College (my ultimate pipe dream) for music and as of January 2016, I am now back in one of my favorite cities in all of planet earth attending!
I will be here for at least one year, hopefully two, possibly 3.
I want to inhabit places where love doesn't exist and engulf it the best I possibly can. I accept people right where they are and build friendships from that point. I'm a lover of living a full life, loudly and softly, boldly and quietly, gradually and all at once. I have my head stuck in heaven and my feet plopped soundly on earth. I wish I could live outdoors. I like accomplishing things, but I am beginning to see that I enjoy the journey more. I like hiking and repelling, white water rafting and sky diving. Anything adventurous. Anything that pumps adrenaline! Anything that will make me get to the end of my life out of breath and completely empty of my purpose in this world before my Savior.
I am the woman who hopes to be remembered for getting behind people and encouraging the holy moses out of them so that they can be everything they know they're meant for. I like different. I like change. I like the freedom that comes from facing your fears. I like trying most things at least once. I like making people forget about time for awhile. I like to quote songs in everyday conversation. I'd like to think the best of me is still hiding up my sleeve. I like cleverness. My mind revolves around ideas and possibilities while my heart is obsessed with truth.
I enjoy a good muse.
I think Mother Teresa, Brian and Bobbie Houston, C.S. Lewis, Jennifer Lawrence, Katie Davis, Sam Childers, Nick Vujicic, Ryan Gosling, Brooke Fraser, Jack Kerouac, all of Switchfoot, Audrey Hepburn, my parents, my sister Jessie, and the likes are brilliant. I love having conversations that aren't empty and pointless, but deep and exciting and calm and full of life. I like waking in the morning to a clean slate and going to sleep completely full at night.
I am avidly fond of descriptive wordings, fancy melodies, artic foxes, lumber jack beards, candy cigarettes, colorful journals, au-natural eyebrows, steep sledding hills, a raspy songstress, chubby babies & people who dispatch an aura of mystery.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My sister and I began with our local CS community in Chattanooga, TN and now I have used it to branch out in friendships stretching all over the world via my travels! Funny how much smaller the world becomes in the midst of each growing horizon. Began attending in 2011 and 5 years later, Couchsurfing has completely ransacked my entire life in more ways than I could ever describe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In January of 2011, I went to an orphanage in Honduras that had a deep impact on my heart. I adore orphans and those who can't help themselves.
I have been to the Grand Canyon. It, in fact, is pretty grand.
I have been skydiving, white water rafting in the Ocoee, cliff jumping in Honduras, surfing for 4 hrs in California, Glacian cruises in Alaska, Climbed Mt Chrysolite in Colorado, Rodeo'd in Austin Texas, hung from an 80 ft cliff by my hair, etc..
I had a really great privilege spring of 2011 to be a core extra in scenes with Harrison Ford in the movie "42".
My very first surfing experience in Oz was at Bondi Beach and it was followed by countless more!
SO many stories, so little time...
