About Me

CURRENT MISSION

What is going on??? Where am I and is forcing me to learn about bond evaluations really necessary?

ABOUT ME

I call myself Babs (which is a shorter form of my pet name), here, in the US. I'm a student at present, and would love to be one for the rest of my life. Although, most days, I just want to float about in a delicious stupor caused by a couple of good novels, some great music and a plate of chocolates and maybe some cheese.
And then dream wonky, weird dreams that I'll remember in the morning.
I love to travel. I love being immersed in experiences. And I rarely take photos because what I remember is so much more beautiful.
I am reticent, introverted and shy - but very verbose. Right, so, not if I'm in the right kind of social situation, it just takes me some time. I used to worry about that, I don't anymore.
I love dogs. Specially the big ones, I miss my two Labs back home tons! I adore cats and want one desperately. I'm trying to woo a cat that keeps appearing outside my apartment, all she allows me is a quick pet and then she abandons me. Sigh.
I like my pizza cold and clammy - just outa the 'fridge.
So I understand if you have a different point of view. I have opinions on all sorts of things, I'll listen to yours too, but don't see what one has got to do with the other.
I think people find it disconcerting that I smile a lot (been told that) - but dammit I'm happy, I smile.

PHILOSOPHY

I think we're all born into this life cycle to learn something. When you learn it, you lived a fulfilled life and when you're born again, you learn something new. So, I believe I should keep an open mind, not compare my life to another's and be happy, love it all and smile at the moon occasionally.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to host someone, but I'm in student housing now, so I can't. I will host short-notice requests, if you want to; we have a couch. I can, however, help out anyone who wants to travel in South India. I love temples and the little cities in South India. Its history is in those places. So, if I can help you with that, I'd love to. I'm hoping to take part in more local CS stuff in Rochester once my schedule eases up a little in Summer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Totally fun and fabulous maiden CS voyage with Arwyn, Moe and Sophia in Boston. I'm a CS-er for life!!! Outside of this organisation though, my family has hosted travellers before.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll give every kind of music a listen-to once and I'll listen to an album I like over and over for months on end, until I find the next one.
I love movie scores, nothing better to give your life some drama.
Can't say I like movies much, prefer books.
I also love to read - mostly I like Fantasy and Science Fiction. I've been reading Herman Hesse recently and cried my way through it, just because it makes so much sense. Secretly though, I also love conspiracy type novels (the kind where alligators live in the sewers of New York City and are an advanced race with the cure to cancer).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Loved walking in the rain on the Marble Beach in Tajiri-Cho, Japan.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore

Countries I’ve Lived In
