Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Until know I only stayed at other couchsurfer's places which has always been awesome because they showed me all the nice places only locals go to. As I have to travel for work reasons (and only have a small appartment in Dresden) I'm currently not able to host anyone. Hope that one day I have a permanent address I'll definitely return the favour!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed at a couple of couchsurfers' places now and had nothing but positive experience. It is just amazing how friendly, warm and hospitable couchsurfers are. You meet intersting, different, sometimes crazy, but always really lovely people who not only share their homes but their whole experience, opinions and their cities, of course - that's a lot more than you could ever wish for when staying in some standard hotel.

Interests

Besides travelling, I love photography and you'd see me taking pictures all the time. I also enjoy doing any activity outside (biking, hiking, gardening...), but also cooking, baking or reading a good book.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like everything from rock to electronic music, movies that really make you think about them and novels based on well-researched facts, but contain science fiction/ crime elements, too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Since I (temporarily) moved to Canada, I've seen a lot of impressing things. So I would just call my whole trip across Northern America amazing. In particular, hiking up mountains in the Rockies and enjoying that astonishing view once you are up there is quite breathtaking. Last November, my childhood dream came true when I could watch northern lights dancing in the dark of Iceland.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm really into photography and in the meantime, I sort of got better - so I would call my current status 'experienced hobby photographer' and love to share my experience. Also, you can ask me all sorts of computer related questions and sometimes I might even be able to have an answer for you ;) If you are not too much of a gourmet (which could scare me), you can always expect me to cook some what I think is a really nice dish. Oh, and I used to play the keyboard (don't have time any more...). Otherwise I'll be happy to share my travelling experience with you, of course.
