About Me
If I were a part of nature I would be the river. Health and wellness oriented conscious adventurist who loves the outdoors, partner dancing, yoga, mountain biking, skiing and anything adrenaline related. I enjoy cooking, good conversation, craft beer, and making music with a community. If I am looking for a host I am likely road tripping in my van and will be engaging in any kind of exercise activity. I have my mountain bike, fly fishing set up and roller blades. I have spent a lot of time getting to know other cultures and ways of living. Always learning always exploring!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Community. Our last hope as citizens of this nation of individuals, patterns, and preferences. There is an immense beauty and wonder to me in meeting and connecting with people who I don't know and sharing my space and the space of others. Moreover building friendships and networks and experiences with people in places that I am unfamiliar with. Or enhancing the experience of others by sharing where I am living. There is also a great importance for people to be able to get to know a place through the people there, and I think it is crucial for our society to feel comfortable traveling. Each place I go I meet people who seek to experience the diversity of the earths wonders as I do. I also meet people who introduce me to completely new things that turn them on. I have only been on couch surfing since September of 2016. In my travels as a youth I have slept under bridges, under semi trailers, among wolves, on highway medians, and mostly on the bald surface of our planet. I deeply enjoy the company of others, sharing space, breaking bread, and perhaps music or knowledge.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 18 my sister and I were in South America and we rented an ATV for the day. We were on a crazy mountain road in equador and went into a really dark long tunnel. She was operating and she didn't know how to turn the lights on and we crashed into the side of the tunnel and I had to flag some locals in the dark to help me lift the wheel of the ATV out of the drainage gutter. Later on that year a Slovakian friend and I took a ferry across the rio Uruguay from Argentina to Brazil. Our hopes were to renew our visas and walk around the small Brazilian town for the day and take the ferry back. Well we missed the ferry- they told us the wrong time for the last departure. There was absolutely no lodging and all we had was my day pack. Being familiar with swimming in moving water I figured we would swim across. The river was about 500 yards wide. My friend wasn't such a strong swimmer but I motivated him and pulled him through and we walked up to the border control station soaking wet. They were closed for the day and were so unhappy that they arrested us both. I talked our way into fresh visa stamps and freedom. Recently I spent 5 months in SE Asia with my wonderful partner Megann and we bought a motorcycle and rode through Vietnam. Couldn't suggest that adventure more.
