Hallo. Mein Name ist Krystal. It's a strange spelling of the naturally occurring mineral gemstone.

I was born in Taiwan and grew up in Wellington, New Zealand. I lived also in Osaka, Japan; Pretoria in South Africa and between Seoul/Daejeon of South Korea. Currently, I am working and studying online while I travel in Europe.

Thanks to my parents, I've had many opportunities to travel since I was young. I guess it's now a big part of me - if I don't travel once every few months something doesn't feel right. ;-)

I am currently studying Psychology and Theology and working as an online teacher and translator.
I'd like to learn some German. In exchange, I can teach you Mandarin Chinese, English, Japanese or beginner Korean! :)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I have travelled to a lot of countries, not as many as I'd like. To me, the world of diverse cultures and languages will always be an endlessly fascinating place. However, Europe is still unknown territory for me. I find it super interesting to learn about the vast cultural differences between Eastern and Western Europe. I love hearing people's personal stories and experiences of how they grew up and what they dream of (interestingly in Western Europe, people don't seem to open up so easily). I never back down from a deep conversation, but I also like small talks and being silly at times.

I think travelling is an important education that one can invest in themselves, it is medicine for the soul. Travelling to a completely new place to me is not only exciting but also therapeutic! I just enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them. My heart is open and I am forever curious.

I think it's important to say, I'm thankful for the fact that I am privileged enough to travel. I don't forget to show gratitude for the blessings of life. I hope I have the opportunity to meet like-minded people over Couchsurfing. Let's value the friendships we make along this journey.
