About Me

My name is Krystal, I am 24 years old and was raised in Northern California. I am an artist and musician, influenced by eclectic and psychedelic styles. I've graduated high school, studied a few years at community college and spent the last few years working at the local health food store. I love to spend time outdoors, hiking or playing music by the river. I love going to events like festivals or live music shows and meeting new people. I have a strong interest in spirituality and philosophy, as well as alternative and natural health/medicinal practices. I am lucky to be here to experience this world, to explore and learn and grow. Anything that allows me to do those things is of strong value to me and I hope to share that with others. : )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My boyfriend Joey and I are currently living in our van and traveling the West Coast. We are both musicians and we are also trying to start a production company that works with audio and video production of bands, live performers, venues, etc. I have lived in Northern California my whole life and he has lived there for about four years. Joey is originally from Georgia and has travelled a lot, so now we are looking to explore more together. While making money on this trip is a goal, it is also something we don't have much of. Being efficient and simplistic is something we both strive for, which is one reason why we've come to Couch Surfing. There are lots of people out there willing to help and lots of people in need, and I have always had a good experience with people on here before. We love meeting new people, sharing stories and anything else we can and appreciate anything we can come across. Life is too short to let it just fly by. We are here to take what we've learned and share it with the world, as well as see what the world can teach us. : )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I visited Mexico on a two week cruise with my family, my mother and I experienced the Zip Line in Mazatlan. I was only 18 and I am VERY afraid of heights, especially when it includes being 100+ ft. up in a tree, only attached by a single rope. It was one of the most amazing things I have done and I think my mother can say the same. The fact that we faced our fears together and enjoyed a new experience in a beautiful landscape is something I will never forget. We swung across 35 ft ropes between trees up in the lush mountains, endured a physically taxing hike up the cliffs and picked up on our Spanish quite well. It was an incredible adventure and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't done it yet, although I can't wait to do it again : )

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my company and positivity. I can share my music and my art and hopefully share in others talents as well. One thing I learned growing up, is you always work for something. While there may be many times in this life you are given something for 'free', I always try to do something or out some energy out there that allows me to deserve that. When people allow me into their homes, I always try to help out, even in a small way. I am never looking to invade privacy or overstay my welcome, just as I am never looking to damage or disrespect someone's personal property. I just love meeting people, sharing stories and experiences, or even just sharing a small moment together to smile about later on. My boyfriend Joey and I are both well-versed in alternative/natural health and it is always our goal to shed light and help others in need, when we can. Helping people choose a path that may be better for their health and well being is something that gives me great joy and satisfaction, so that is something I can share too. We are all in this together and anything that is given will be received and returned equally, at the least. : )
