Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live, love, fight, destroy, create, challenge, learn, share, and laugh. Don't forget to laugh.
ABOUT ME
In the words of a friend, "Krystal is a skinny junk food vegan with a giant heart." I like to think that this is true.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life in awe of the beauty that surrounds me. It's important to keep loving, fighting, learning and sharing.
Regardless of any other beliefs we hold and however we choose to lead our lives, each of us can decide to act with kindness and compassion. Making humane choices is the ultimate affirmation of our humanity.
Ultimately, living with compassion means striving to maximize the good we accomplish, not just living by a set of rules but also challenging them. From being an anarchist to being vegan, my actions are only a means to an end: decreasing suffering.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I offer a warm smile, kindness, a giant hug, a bad joke, a good laugh, a long conversation, some whiskey; and when I can, a couch.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couch surfed all over the country, and will do so worldwide some day. The oddest house I ever stayed in was one that had a coffin chillin' behind the couch in the living room.
Interests
Books, people, movies, playing dress up, dancing, climbing, cuddling, music, drinking whiskey, and learning about anti-authoritarian alternatives to the current capitalist structure. I also like to spend time sitting in the park, riding my bike, and soaking up the sun.

Music, Movies, and Books
One of my favorite movies is Mary and Max. One of my favorite singers is Sam Cooke. One of my favorite artists is James Jean. One of my favorite directors is Lars Van Trier. One of my favorite books is The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'd like to say that just living everyday is amazing but here are some things that stand out: paragliding in Utah, backpacking through Europe, jumping into a frozen lake in Minnesota, visiting the Boundary Waters, seeing whales off the coast of Mexico, cliff jumping in Canada, zip-lining through the jungle, watching Monarch butterflies mating, running into the ocean naked in celebration of Winter Solstice, completing the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky with one of my favorite people in the world.Building a snow fort in the woods and spending the night in it. And yes, everyday is amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to share stories, laughs, ideas, and affection. I think we can all learn and teach from the simple exchange of love and respect. Also, silence is a powerful tool, both in learning and teaching.
