About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Studying music, living life, making new friends, and, above all else, having a good time
ABOUT ME
I spent last year teaching English to young students in South Korea and I'm happy to finally have landed in Stuttgart, Germany. Now I just need to find a way to make a life here as well.
I love being outside, whether hiking, running, biking, fishing, swimming, water skiing, you name it and I enjoy it. I am outgoing and exuberant but sometimes it takes me a little while to open up and really reveal my personality, so if I'm a little quiet at first don't be fooled, I am a fun loving and extroverted person!
I also really love to play pool (billiards: 8 ball, 9 ball, 10 ball, maybe some one pocket if I'm feeling masochistic), darts, foosball, and all of the other typical bar games you can find, in addition to playing volleyball, yoga, running, and any other generally active activities!
I'm looking to travel, to meet new and different peoples, and to try to really understand where I fit in this world that I live in.
PHILOSOPHY
After studying a lot of philosophy at my undergrad I believe that everyone should be involved with the humanities at some point in their educational career. If you don't go on to higher education you can still incorporate the things you would learn in the humanities by taking an interest in your decisions and morals. Why do we do what we do? If you can't find an answer for doing something, maybe you shouldn't be doing it. One should have moral firmness, believe something and stick with it, but also moral flexibility, the ability to discuss, disagree, learn, and even be able to change beliefs when given new information and insights. Essentially I think that everyone should become more involved in their own lives: by fully understanding ourselves perhaps then we can better understand others without being so close-minded.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted a few people and met many others for dinners and drinks. But I have yet to stay on someone else's couch! I'll have to remedy that sometime soon.

Music, Movies, and Books
I go through phases every few months, so I like to tell people that I listen to everything (even though that's a pretty annoying response). I love live jazz, big bands, anything that's jazzy, bluesy, and just nice. But I listen to a lot of hip-hop, rap, indie, country (rarely, but I have my country moments), opera, classical, anything really.
Right now my top three artists have been: Imogen Heap, Atmosphere, and Sufjan Stevens.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived for a year in Busan, South Korea. It opened my eyes to everything I take for granted elsewhere (most notably: that food!) and made me really question whether I needed to go back to the states right away. (Spoiler alert: I decided not to! I live in Stuttgart, Germany now).
Teach, Learn, Share
I am an avid billiards player- so if you want to go out, grab a few beers, and play some pool I'm your girl. I can teach the game but I'm also more than happy to be taught a few things myself.
