Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
I think it's an amazing experience & a great opportunity to broaden one's horizons.
I don't believe that it's possible to actually feel and discover country or city to the fullest without communication. And what's the point of living without sharing your thoughts and feelings? CS gives this incredible chance to try how _real_ life in different places feels and tastes like, to meet the most generous and interesting people, to bond and make friendships.
Can't wait to start this amazing experience!
Interessen
Literature, Art, history, travelling, wine-tasting (never actually done it before but hope to start one day ;))
I grew up in a sea town and fell in love with the sea for the rest of my life.
Japan has been my passion for as long as I remember myself. Japanese culture (especially literature) influenced my worldview heavily.
I became passionate about all things Europe a few years ago, and it has been my dream ever since to go and experience it all, especially Italy, France, Greece - places I believe to be vitally important in the formation of European cultural identity. I'm also thinking about trying to get into a grad school and getting classical degree in the humanities, studying European history, philosophy and languages more profoundly.
I've been writing poetry in my native language, Russian, since I was 6, and, understandably, I cannot imagine my life without it. :)

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Music. Indie, folk, ethno, jazz, soul etc. :) Love classical music, too, most of the 18th century music sounds to me like a dream coming true (even French patriotic operas, which is kinda silly of me).
Movies. plenty! some of them in random order: Rashomon, Star wars, Midnight in Paris, Pulp fiction, Godfather, Louis de Funès and Pierre Richard movies :)), movies by Andrey Tarkovsky, old Soviet comedies make me kinda nostalgic, which is hard to explain, but it's inseparable from my childhood memories.
Books: oh gosh, too many. again, some of them: Les Misérables, 1984, Genji monogatari, Hamlet, Crime and Punishment, The Karamazov Brothers and probably everything by Dostoevsky, Death in Venice, The Decameron, Master and Margarita, Shadows of forgotten ancestors, novels by Yasunari Kawabata. Historical literature. All sorts of myths and fairytales. And, of course, poetry.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Survived in Saint-Petersburg for 4 years despite the weather and learning Japanese :D Just kidding.
The most amazing, difficult and important decision for me was to move from Crimea. It's a little too personal, but if you're interested I can tell you about this experience in the conversation. :)
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
Can discuss literally anything. Also, have been told that I'm an excellent listener. Would love to hear whatever stories you might wanna share.
Cannot call myself an eccelent cook, but I can cook for you if you want! Still, I would prefer to assist you in kitchen - group work always makes everything better.
Can teach you some Russian, Ukrainian or Japanese. or all of them :) Will definitely write your names in all of them (most often request).
