Interests

Curiosity is my second nature - everything novel, thought provoking and genuine draws my attention.
I love dancing, especially Argentinian tango.
On my planet a lively debate is preferred to a small talk; books are cherished and enjoyed as well as good Italian wine.
Traveling is one of my passions.
Black and white analogue photography allows hours of contemplation while in a dark room :) and is a visual treat!

Books: Nikolaj Gogol, Arundhati Roy, Haruki Murakami, Orhan Pamuk, Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams, Tom Wolf, Mihail Bulgakov, Lermontov and Pushkin (when I'm in the mood for poetry), Isabel Allende, Sei Shonagon, Fjodor Dostojevski, Lev Gumilev, Jonathan Safran Foer, Daphne Du Maurier and many many others.
Music: Carla Bruni 'No Promises' (mainly due to the lyrics), bossa nova and choro, good jazz, live classical music from Corelli to Prokofiev, from Beethoven to Honegger, from Brahms to Kodály; Russian rock, bards and romance, and last but not least - tango! - from Piazzolla to Gotan Project.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

once in the South of India I gave a hug to a crocodile.. - true or not?
i saw how people fight cancer and I saw death, which is not a happy experience but teaches you to appreciate life even more and to remember how fragile we are.
i love experiencing the spirit of the elements - thunder storms, ocean waves, rainy and sunny days, mist... there are beautiful images in the terabytes of my memory
