About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Save the cheerleader, save the world.
ABOUT ME
I think I'm inquisitive, open-minded, optimistic, a little bit over-enthusiastic, maybe. I'm always down for anything weird, adventurous or borderline stupid (at night), and anything interesting, artistic and educational (during the day). ;)
PHILOSOPHY
I honestly, deeply, and maybe absurdly believe that people are the greatest thing ever, everything will be okay, and peace, love and understanding are the only things we need.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Uh... I spread the word? I guess. ^^
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, all I've had any chance to do is meet up with CSers in different cities for drinks and crazy nights out. I'm willing to host as soon as I find a place to stay in Kyoto.
Interests
I love languages. Not just learning, speaking, and researching them, but also poetry, literature, singing, calligraphy, graffitti, linguistics, propositional calculus, graphic design, programming, typology - as long as there's words involved, I'm all over it.
Apart from that, I like photography, movies, music, found art, architecture, anything creative, really.
I guess I can be pretty nerdy, too; I'm fascinated by maths and computer sciences.
I'm not much of an outdoors guy, but I like urban exploring, climbing on things, sneaking into deserted places, taking crazy pictures, trying stupid stunts and watching the sun rise from a rooftop after an amazing night out. I love lakes, rivers, and the ocean; and I love all kinds of animals (but I prefer to love spiders from a distance).

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - I love independent cinema, arthouse movies, 50's and 60's movies, and anything absurd, challenging, low-budget, and original.
Music - Anything, really. From Jazz to Rap to Dubstep to House to IDM to Singer/Songwriter to Shoegaze to Hardcore to Black Metal, as long as it's original.
Books - Same thing as with movies and music, I love anything new and artistic, meta-fiction, poetry and found art; particularly anything that feels authentic, unfinished, or accidental. ^^
I also read a lot of non-fiction, on whatever scientific topic I am all fired up about this month.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I guess the things that are truly amazing are personal things, things that likely don't carry any meaning for anyone but yourself.
I've been getting up almost every morning for close to 25 years straight, though, I think that is one amazing thing we can all get behind. ;)
Teach, Learn, Share
If you know one of the way too many languages I don't know, you might want to hide that fact; once I start asking questions about new languages, the only way to make me shut up is to give me beer... ^^
Seriously though, I don't like this one-sided concept of teaching and learning. We can spend a night deep in conversation over one too many drinks, though, and I'll let you know what I learned in the morning; you always learn something by being with people.
