About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Just finished traveling for 2 years - trying to overcome a travel hangover.
ABOUT ME
Born and raised in Honolulu, HI...studied in Pittsburgh, PA....worked in Albuquerque, NM....worked in Austin, TX, currently roaming the planet. I'm an incredibly laid back lady who has a massive appreciation for good food and drink, and even better company. I love to travel and hear travel stories.
PHILOSOPHY
It's always changing, but in general...dont' be a dick.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Before I started traveling I hosted quite a bit but am unable to now. When I settle down again I'd love to have you over :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfed some in Napa Valley, Austin and Guadalajara, but have mainly hosted visitors from Europe, Australia, and North America.
Interests
Being from Hawaii and living in the southwest for 8 yrs, I love the outdoors. Hiking, camping, chilling by the beach, you name it. I'm always up for a good adventure and a bit of craziness.
While my youth was spent in wild parties, I've calmed down a bit as I've entered my 30's and I spend most of my weekday off hours either catching a happy hour after work with friends or lazying about the house attempting to be a grown adult. I attempt to do yoga and meditation every day...and usually fail, but I'm ok with that too.
Weekends are usually fit for going on hikes or camping trips, catching a show at a local music venue, having a dinner party with friends, or the occasional binge drinking fest at the bars.
In general all one needs is good food (and drink), good music, and good company.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Indie, Folk, Atmospheric Electronic, Psych, Reggae
Favorite Band: Explosions in the Sky.
Bands I'm into lately: EXES, The Japanese House, ARIZONA, Shallou, Phoebe Bridgers
Books: The Giving Tree - It reminds me to appreciate what I'm given, to always be considerate, and to never take advantage.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One night, I had two couch surfers arrive at my house at 2 am. Driving from California, they asked if I'd join them along on their ride to Austin. I called into work and left with them the next morning. Long story short, we had an awesome time and I moved to Austin 6 months after that spontaneous trip. Three people who I met in Austin on that trip are currently some of my best friends now.
