I have almost no modesty, but I always do most things in good taste. Relying on the kindness of strangers was a learning experience and the good times that always seemed to follow. I grew up and live in Austin while I try to find my way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I cook, fix bikes and make people laugh (even when they don't want to). I traveled around Europe for 7 months with just my pack and a hunger to experience everything I could. I grew and learned a lot and hope to give back to the travelers that may cross my path.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been surfing for a little while now. I have made friends from around the world and experienced cultures from a new perspective that I cannot get enough of. Each experience has been unique, all of the people have been amazing.

I am constantly amazed by the kindness of strangers, especially within this (CS) community. The openness and generosity, the desire to share, meeting fellow travelers aimlessly experiencing the world.

Interests

I make my own beer, I enjoy playing as well as listening to music and I have been known to pass time with blistering sarcasm and cynical humor. Cycling is one of my passions, not to mention sailing and recently I seem to have developed a desire to see the world (go figure).

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy reading many books, but I get a lot of pleasure out of reading Calvin and Hobbes and Don Quixote, not to mention a good Shakespearean play

As for music, here are some of my favorites: Cash, Coltrane, Monk, Decemberists, Rage Against the Machine, Green Day, Stevie Ray Vaughn, B.B. King, Marley, Matisyahu, Radiohead, Elgar, Chopin, Debussy... Anything with a banjo/ukulele/mandolin

Movies are a bit harder to pick, but I always have time to watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, City of God, Amelie and anything you think I should see.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done a lot and seen a lot, but I believe there are always things in this world that will amaze me.

I traveled around Europe for 7 months with nothing but my pack and a desire to meet everyone and see everything. I cultivated my love for couchsurfing there and will never forget the experience.
