ABOUT ME

I like to talk, I LOVE to laugh, I almost always am smiling.

I studied abroad in Valencia, Spain for 4 months. I have never before been to Europe, so I used my flight to Spain as my portal key into the whole continent of Europe!

I enjoy being pushed out of my comfort zone, because I trust my instincts and intelligence to know when an uncomfort I'm feeling is precarious, or something normal just different.

I love meeting new people, I love to talk and I can make friends with anyone, and not on a superficial level. I like to think I know all my friends on a deep level of understanding, so get ready for some deep conversations :)

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is that you never know who will be around the next corner, who might change your life!

I think of myself has having lots of hope for other people- I am not easily put off by people, and I like to give everyone and everything a chance. I don't have a specific "type" of person that I like to be around-- I think schemas like that are dumb, and equations for disaster and sadness.

I like exploring, talking to people, going new places, because I always think you're next soul mate, be it friendly or romantic, is anywhere and everywhere.

I participate in life by always trying to learn, absorb information, GO out into the world.

I participate in the CS community but trying to do exactly that!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed 3 times, each more incredible than the previous.

I am fascinated by philosophy, languages (yes, even grammar), religion, psychology, sociology... all of it! I love to nerd out on snotty topics like that, but I also love 30 Rock and anything cat related more than most things out there. I pride myself on my duality of being a NERD and likewise a goofball/charming shithead.
And yes, I love cats. Absolute love.

Muzyka, filmy i książki

I love Kurt Vonnegut with a vivid passion. I enjoyed the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books (THERE! I said it.) I enjoy autobiographies, especially ones with some sort of culturally taboo slant.

I really love going to live concerts-- as for the moment, my favorite bands are Broken Social Scene, Radiohead, and Neutral Milk Hotel.

I also have a passion for movies-- I have been known to take myself out on dates if I've had a rough day, where I can grab some dinner, a beer, and a movie. Those nights are always my favorites :) I like reading about movies, different interpretations, etc. My dream is to go to the Cannes, Sundance, and Telluride film festivals.

ALASKA. It was probably one of the most beautiful weeks of my life. Everywhere you turn, your eyes would feast on an awesome (the REAL definition of that word, awe inspiring) landscape, something that looks more beautiful than a photo or movie. Walking around at midnight with the sun still bright and shining was a completely surreal sensation. At first, it made me feel funny-- it didn't feel natural! I quickly embraced it, and used the 23.5 hour sunny days to our advantage.

To be quite honest, I am still searching for some amazing moments in my life. I am only in my 20s, so I know I have a lot of life to live. But that's exactly why I'm here in Spain. I'm here to live, and explore, and grow.

I have a lot to learn, and will be learning until the day I die, but I like to think I can share my understandings with whomever would care to listen :)

As far as practical skills go, I can teach basic bike maintenance and espresso machine logistics (worked in both fields for 4 years cumulatively). I can teach how to paint, how to braid hair, how to bake, how to roll cigarettes, how to eat healthily, yoga....and maybe some more!

I'd love to learn anything and everything you have to offer.
